Adcote School is thrilled to announce another year of exceptional GCSE results, reflecting the hard work and dedication of our Year 11 students and the unwavering support from our teaching staff. This year’s results firmly establish Adcote as a leading institution for girls’ education, continuing our tradition of pursuing academic excellence .
We are proud to report that 38% of all grades awarded to Year 11 students were at grades 9-7 (equivalent to A*/A), significantly surpassing the national average. Furthermore, over 60% of all grades achieved were between 9-6 (A*-B), showcasing the high level of achievement across the board.
Our students’ accomplishments this year include a remarkable 96% pass rate, 93% of student earning five or more GCSEs at grade 4 and above. This is a 6% improvement on last year’s results, demonstrating our commitment to continuous improvement. Ensuring they are well-prepared for further education and future career opportunities.
In individual successes, Elinor achieved an outstanding eight grade 9s, one grade 8, and one grade 6. We are delighted that Elinor will be continuing her studies with us into Sixth Form, where we are confident she will continue to excel. Carina also performed exceptionally well, with three grade 9s, three grade 8s, two grade 7s, and two grade 6s.
Our STEM and Humanities results were particularly impressive this year. Over half of the grades in both Chemistry and Geography were grade 7 and above, with 36% of Physics results being grade 9, reflecting our strong emphasis on these critical subjects. We are also proud to report that 100% of our students achieved equivalent grades 9-5 in the Cambridge National IT qualification, underscoring our commitment to providing a comprehensive learning curriculum. The following subjects all achieved more than 60% in grades 9-6, the olf A* to B grades: Art & Design, Biology, business, Food Preparation, Music, History, and exam PE.w
Notably, 65% of the 20 subjects offered at Adcote achieved a 100% pass rate, highlighting the consistent excellence across our diverse academic programs. Additionally, 100% of our students passed both English and Maths GCSE, with 56% achieving grade 6 or higher in English Language, underscoring our school’s strength in core academic areas.
These exceptional results are a testament to our innovative “Clear Learning” initiative, which ensures that every student has a personalised, structured path to success. By focusing on clear objectives, regular feedback, and tailored support, we empower each student to achieve their best academically while developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Deputy Headteacher Mrs Nicola Tribe commented, “The success of our students this year is a clear indication that our ‘Clear Learning’ approach is working. We are enabling our girls to reach their full potential and I am incredibly proud of what they have achieved.”
Significantly, 22% of our students earned ten qualifications at grade 5 and above, while 70% of our cohort achieved eight or more qualifications at grade 4 and above. Cream achieved 11 level 2 qualifications.
As we celebrate these outstanding results, Adcote School remains committed to providing a non-selective environment where every student can thrive academically and personally, preparing them for a bright and successful future. Adcote celebrated another outstanding set of results last week, with 59% of A level grades being awarded A*/A. We are thrilled for our Adcote graduates as we saw 88% of students accepted to their 1st choice university including Imperial, Cardiff and Warwick.
