At Adcote we provide opportunities to go beyond the National Curriculum, offering a diverse range of enriching learning experiences both within and outside of the classroom.
We plan a wide range of activities that not only support the core curriculum but also provide avenues for developing specialist skills like computing, performing or languages, thereby enriching children’s cultural capital.
A primary focus of our curriculum is to inspire the students, developing their CLEAR skills so that they desire to not only engage with the learning, but also to be active in driving their learning forward. We have a reputation for nurturing well-rounded individuals who are not only academically successful but also socially and culturally aware.

CLEAR Learning
CLEAR Learning lies at the heart of what we do. It reflects the culture of our school, and is the catalyst for the core values that we hone during the time the girls are with us.
In Juniors, we celebrate all aspects of CLEAR, within all aspects of school life. This can be in the classroom or during activities. We have various Challenge and CLEAR days, where the girls will be able to take part in activities and work as a team, interacting with different age groups. Girls can also earn awards with stars. Certificates are awarded during the weekly Junior School Assembly.

These experiences underpin and expand on their in-class education, increasing their range of skills and knowledge and giving rich contexts for furthering their CLEAR skills.

Whole School Events
Throughout the year, Challenge days and themed days/weeks are woven into the curriculum to extend and enhance the breadth and balance of opportunities we offer our students. These include Anti-Bullying Week, Online Safety Day, World Mental Health Day, World Book Day, European Day of Languages, Harvest celebration and much more.
The Challenge days provide wonderful opportunities for the whole school to get together meeting diverse challenges such as learning to play African drums.

Pastoral Support
We pride ourselves in the Junior School of being a caring and nurturing community. We have an open door policy for all parents and pupils. We will always make time to listen and discuss, as we believe that this is the key to understanding and consideration of one another.
Form tutors provide the first port of call for pupils and parents. Form captains and deputies provide peer support within classes, with the senior school prefects and wellbeing champions also on hand to listen and guide pupils.

An Enriched Learning Experience
We have an active and enthusiastic approach to the Performing Arts at Adcote. The pupils have a variety of opportunities to take part and build confidence through performance. The eagerly anticipated Christmas productions are an annual showcase of the talent within the Junior School.There are various choral groups pupils can join, plus the option of music lessons in everything from singing to piano to a variety of musical instruments. The LAMDA award is another popular choice of pupils for developing self confidence, physical presence and a strong speaking voice. We also take part in various local and national competitions with the pupils having won many trophies for the cabinet!
