‘Leavers’ Week’ is a time of celebration, achievement, saying farewell and wishing each and every student the very best for the exciting new chapter in their lives.
It is always a time of mixed emotions – happiness, laughter and excitement, tinged with a touch of sadness as classmates depart and go their separate ways.
Many Year 11s will be continuing their journey with us in Sixth Form. All of our Year 13s will be leaving us for bright futures ahead.
Years 11 and 13 have been marking their final year of Senior School or Sixth Form all week. Each year group has led their own Leavers’ Assembly. Adcote Chaplain Rev Lucinda Burns led a moving Leavers Service for Year 13 at our local church.
And leavers are very much looking forward to the grand culmination of the week – the Summer Ball. The hall has been splendidly decorated by the Friends of Adcote.
“This week we are saying a fond farewell to our beloved girls in our Years 11 and 13,” said Headmistress Mrs Browne
“Both year groups have been exceptional, especially in light of the unprecedented challenges that faced them, studying for life-changing examinations in the most difficult of circumstances. I hope they are proud of themselves.”
