Military theme for Adcote Open Day

Posted: 18th April 2017

An army assault course and a giant inflatable wall will set the theme for Adcote School’s Open Day on May 1.

Celebrating the school’s official signing of the Armed Forces Covenant, the open day will also be an opportunity to see the school at work from 9.30am – 4pm.

The Mayor of Shrewsbury and local dignitaries are expected to attend.

Adcote is the only school in Shropshire to offer all-girls’ education from aged seven (Year 3) to 18. The school has always maintained strong links with the Armed Forces and welcomes children of parents who serve.

Diane Browne, Adcote headteacher, said: We are very proud to be signing the Armed Forces covenant. Adcote already has a number of children whose parents are serving their country and we are honoured to be able to extend our support in this way. We fully understand that when parents are away, they need to know that their children are in a safe and caring environment and Adcote provides that for them. The 20% discount on school fees which the covenant gives to members of the Armed Forces Means that this peace of mind can be achieved in a very accessible way.

Adcote girls participate in a CCF programme at Shrewsbury School and are encouraged in leadership and team-building tasks through outward bound activities such as the popular Wayfarers Club and The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme.

Please contact the school to book a place on 01939 260202 or admissions@adcoteschool.co.uk
