A big welcome back to all our students and a special hello to our new students and their parents/carers.
At Adcote we’re proud of the character building extra-curricular activities that help to develop our girls as the confident, resilient and innovative young women of tomorrow.
Our special Inter-House Challenge Days, held once every half term, have long been part and parcel of this. They’re now even better than ever as an important element of our newly launched CLEAR programme which aims to develop in our students the guiding core values of Confidence, Leadership, Engagement, Achievement and Resilience.
Challenge Days are an opportunity for students to work together in ‘House’ teams across the school to create, problem-solve, innovate and learn through new experiences that test their leadership and team-working skills and push their boundaries and imagination.
There’s some healthy competition between our three Houses of Glenmore, Haughton and Innage, but also a good dollop of fun!
Our first Challenge Day of the new academic year revved up to a flying start as our entire school rolled up their sleeves, put on their thinking caps and donned their dancing shoes and walking boots.
House teams certainly had their metal tested – especially by a tough STEM challenge that saw them competing to dismantle vehicle engines and then try and put them back together again.
Other challenges included an orienteering course around the Nesscliffe Hills, cooking workshops, book writing and dance choreography. And Prep School made it all the more colourful by turning out in fancy dress to celebrate Roald Dahl Day.
A big thank you goes to Head of Enrichment Chris Farmer who put the programme together for us.
