The U11s played a match against Ellesmere College’s year 7s. We made a slow start as we adjusted to the size of the pitch and the girls insisted on making life difficult by attacking down the left. Following their half time talk, they improved and once they started attacking down the right side, they made much progress and applied pressure on the Ellesmere defense.
Ella Thomas showed excellent elimination skills and was rewarded for her efforts when she scored the first goal. Rosie Stevens took free hits quickly to drive the ball down the right side of the pitch. This made a great difference to the game as it created many scoring opportunities which were saved by the Ellesmere keeper. Camren Brooks scored our second goal to ensure that we took the lead again. Player off the match was Ella Thomas.
