Adcote School this week played host to a large group of children from Whittington Primary School who spent the morning in the beautiful School gardens learning about Shakespeare and doing scenes from five of his most popular plays including Macbeth and Henry the Fifth. This was the first in a series of visits arranged by the Performing Arts department for local schools to visit Adcote.
‘We were delighted by the enthusiasm and talent of the young actors’ said Mrs Cooke, Head of Performing Arts, ‘and we look forward to welcoming four other local primary schools in the coming weeks’.
Over 150 young people have been invited to join these sessions and the workshops are part of the School’s Shakespeare Celebrations. Other events have included performing ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ in the stunning grounds of Shrewsbury Castle.
